Home Remedies for Warts (Masaa)

Hard growths on the skin are referred to as warts. They have the capability of spreading to the whole body but are harmless in nature. They are common both in adults and children.

Causes of Warts:
Warts are caused mainly due to an infection by HPV (Human Papilloma Virus). Usually this virus is contracted from swimming pools.

Symptoms of Warts:
Warts come in various shapes and sizes and usually occur on elbows, fingers, knees, face and scalp. Different forms may also be seen on the soles of the feet and in rectal and genital areas. They tend to return at the same place or some where near by. Warts also appear on the soles of the feet and are known as plantar warts. They are painful and cause difficulty in walking. Common place for warts to grow is broken skin. There are different types of warts. Flat warts can occur in any part of the body and are usually large in numbers. Genital warts are common sexually transmitted diseases affecting people today.


But don't worry and try the following home remedies for warts:
·         Flaxseed is helpful in treating warts. Combine ground flaxseeds with flaxseed oil. Add a small quantity of raw honey to it. Dab this mixture on wart and cover it with a bandage. Prepare a fresh mixture everyday and continue the process. This is one of the beneficial home remedies for warts.
·         To cure warts apply freshly cut pineapple over the affected area. Repeat this several times a day. This is another effective home remedy for warts.
·         Take out the juice of fig stems and apply the juice over the affected area. It is a simple and useful way to treat warts.
·         Take a dandelion weed and squeeze the white milky juice from it. Apply the juice over the warts. This will remove warts. It is one of the efficient home remedies for warts.
·         Camphor oil helps to treat warts very effectively. Coat the wart affected area with camphor oil for several times in a day.
·         You can also massage the affected area with castor oil. Do this for two times a day to get rid of warts.
·         Grapefruit juice extract is also useful in removing warts. Apply a drop or two of grape fruit juice extract on the wart affected area. Repeat this for 3 to 4 times in a day. With a cloth or a bandage cover the area. This is also one of the productive home remedies for warts.
·         Apply tea tree oil on the affected area. This will also help to heal warts.
·         Soak the wart affected area with warm water for 15-20 minutes. With a cotton ball apply cider vinegar to that area. Let it dry. With plain water wash the area and pat dry. This is also one of the fruitful home remedies for warts.
·         Place the peel of a banana with the inner side on top of the wart infection. Peel should be changed every 12-24 hours. This is a simple treatment of warts at home.
·         Immerse an onion slice in vinegar overnight. In the morning put the soaked piece on the affected area and cover the area with bandage. This is one of the common home remedies for warts.
·         Dab the powder of Indian squill herb over the warts. Do this on a daily basis to cure warts.
·         Rub a piece of chalk on the affected area. You can also rub a raw potato to remove warts.
·         Oil extracted from cashew nut shell is very helpful for warts. Apply the oil over the warts and cover the area with a bandage.
·         Mash a garlic clove and place it on the wart affected area. Bandage the area. This is a productive home remedy for warts. You can also take garlic tablets or capsules.
·         Always keep the areas dry as moist areas are more prone to warts.
·         Squash vitamin C tablets on the warts areas and use an adhesive bandage to cover the area.
·         Apply aloe Vera juice, the milky juice of thistle plant or milky juice of unripe figs directly to the wart. This will heal warts.
·         In apple cider vinegar soak lemon slices and add a little salt to it. Wipe the lemon slices on the wart.
·         With few drops of castor oil add a pinch of baking soda. Apply the paste on wart and leave it over night. This is one of the advantageous home remedies for warts.
·         Cauliflower juice also has some positive benefits on warts.
·         With a cotton bandage apply some Aero Vera gel on the wart. Let it stay on wart for 3 hours to get completely absorbed by the skin. Apply more gel after that. Use a new cotton bandage every time. Continue this remedy for few weeks. This is one the excellent home remedies for warts.
·         A good herbal tea can help to remove warts. Add some portions of purple cauliflower, red clover or burdock root to a normally prepared herbal tea. Apply the tea on the warts affected area. This is also one of the positive home remedies for warts.
